- Move Your Body: Moving your body tells your brain that you are unstuck. It shifts the energy to forward momentum. Practice mindfulness moving by taking your mind, body, and spirit for a walk. Start your practice by going outside in nature for a fifteen-minute walk. Before you start to walk, stand on the earth and draw your attention down to your feet.
- Take Deep Breaths: Slowing down and deepening your breath draws more oxygen into your body which reduces fear and restores balance to your nervous system. A regular deep breathing practice can help you remain calm when you find yourself in anxiety-producing situations.
- Trust Divine Timing: Sometimes when you feel stuck, it’s not that you’re not moving forward, it’s just that the timing isn’t right. This is when you must trust divine timing not time. Trust that the universe is conspiring with you, but it does so in keeping with its own elevated timetable.
- Change Your Perspective: A change of scenery can do wonders to give you a new perspective. Take some time off and travel to a different place. Appreciate the positive experiences in your life by attending to the present moment. Dwelling on what’s working will improve your mood.
- Ask for Feedback: When you feel stuck, you shut down the feedback loop with judgment, rigid beliefs and negative thoughts. Ask for feedback from the people in your life that support you unconditionally and encourage your dreams, your soul support team. You can also do some research or work with a professional therapist or coach.
- Make A Choice: Fearful that you will make a wrong choice, you may become paralyzed and avoid choosing altogether. Not making a choice out of fear is still making a choice. So, make a choice even if it takes you in a different direction. It will give the information you need to choose what feels right to you.
- Ask Yourself What if: Ask Yourself: What if there wasn’t an obstacle? What if making a mess or a mistake was ok? What if my fear wasn’t real? What if I made a new choice? Then, what choice would I make? Do that…
- Be Playful, Silly and Laugh: Watch funny movies, play with abandon, be silly with a friend, and laugh out loud. Expose your mind to higher awareness through music, art, and literature that inspires you. Lightheartedness helps you to not take life so seriously and also elevates your energy to a higher vibration.
- Change A Negative Habit: Once you have a negative reaction to something, it reinforces the next negative reaction when you face stress from the outside world. These negative reactions, generated from the inside, turn into a habit of a negative or depressed mindset. It’s important to change your reaction to a positive response to stress before it becomes habitual.
- Rituals of Release: Rituals of release can include: making a picture scrapbook, using old photos in a collage about the past, and creating a visual journal. Such rituals transform energy that is stuck from unresolved emotional pain or grief into positive healing experiences.

I love this. I’m working on a big project and stayed up too late watching the World Series. Feeling a little grumbly and over-tired, I had just decided to bookmark my work and hop in the pool for a workout. Look at that — movement and choice. I already feel better – thanks!

Maybe its a coincidence Debra, but I recently read about using the What If method of questioning to find answers that were higher in vibration and now I see your recommendation. I am definitely going to try it the next time I find myself stuck in an emotional rut.
