You have chosen an extraordinary time to be on earth to assist in the healing of humanity. This is an intense period of self-healing, self-discovery, personal and global transformation. Therefore, maintaining balance and centeredness is challenging right now as we navigate the rough seas of this shift in human consciousness.
Yet, you may feel anxious navigating the energies of these intense and turbulent times. You are not alone. Because of this energetic intensity, you may feel more edgy, restless, and unsettled than usual. You can sense what other people and the world needs and want to provide it.
Within every storm, there is a calm and peaceful center. You can find this center of inner peace through your heart. It’s essential that you practice these 3 anxiety-soothing strategies to release the energy overload that can lead to anxiety, depression, and compassion fatigue:
- Grounding Your Energies: Whenever you experience panic, your energy tends to collect around the top of your head which can make you feel detached from the rest of your body. This sudden rush of energy to your head space may lead to feeling unsteady, dizzy, or even faint. When you’re ungrounded, you can feel uncentered, disoriented, or discombobulated.
Begin at the top of your head and direct your energy down through your entire body to your feet. Focus on how your feet feel inside your socks or shoes and against the ground. Once you have focused your attention here, tap your feet on the ground until you feel the energy here. Doing this outside enhances the calming effect. This is a great way of rebalancing your energies and you can do it any time, with your eyes open or closed, and while sitting or moving.
You also ground your energies by touching the steering wheel before you drive, carry your favorite gemstone in your pocket, or take deep intentional breaths at every natural pause in your day. A regular grounding practice can help you remain calm when you find yourself in anxiety-producing situations.
- Dropping Into Your Heart Space: When you drop into your heart space, you remain grounded like the eye at the center of a tornado even as anxious thoughts spiral through your mind. Thru bringing your attention from your head to your heart, you create energetic balance or harmony. Focusing your attention at your heart doesn’t just calm an anxiety-ridden brain and nervous system; it also brings your body, mind, and spirit into energetic coherence.
When you drop into your heart space, you immediately shift the energy in your body. This helps you become grounded even as your thoughts spiral through your mind. Just by bringing your attention from your head (fear) to your heart (trust), you begin to create balance. It brings your head and heart into energetic coherence.
Close your eyes and place your hand on the center of your chest. Focus your attention at your heart and drop down into this space. You tap your fingers on your chest to stimulate the energy here. Take a few deep breaths while inhaling and exhaling through your heart center. Feel your body relax as you breathe into this space. Pause and notice how you feel. What shifted for you.
Now journal the answers to these questions: What did this divine connection feel like for you? When was the last time you felt connected to it? What did it feel like in your body?
- Rescripting Your Anxious Thoughts with Empowering Affirmations: Anxiety-soothing affirmations help release negativity, calm the nervous system, and elevate your vibration. Such empowering affirmations bring your energy down from the chatter of the brain into the inner peace of your heart.
As you move through your day, notice any negative or anxiety-inducing scripts without judgment. You can immediately replace them with empowering affirmations such as:” I embrace my anxiety as information to spiritually guide me, I trust that I can handle anything that comes my way, I am safe, and I trust my connection to my source.” Repeat these affirmations throughout the day as many times as you need to break the chain reaction of fear and negativity.
One of my favorite anxiety-soothing affirmations is, “Bless and Release.” You can use “Bless and Release” as a daily mantra in your life. When any person or situation triggers anxiety, bless them (or it) for bringing this unhealed part of yourself into your awareness. Sit with and release whatever pain surfaced so it doesn’t become an energy block.
