“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” ~ Alice Walker
One of the ways you know you’re feeling out of control of your life is when you notice yourself trying to micromanage everyone and everything. When you feel yourself needing to control, it’s time to pause, lean in to these feelings, and ask yourself what’s really going on within you. The need to control stems from insecurity and you use it as a substitute for internal security. Unfortunately, this fear-based pattern only generates an illusion of stability. It displaces an absolute trust in yourself and your connection to source onto external sources of security. As a result, you start believing you are a victim of your circumstances, lacking the power to manifest the life you want.
A good way to release the need for control is to adopt the perspective of “Let it be.” Letting others be informs the brain that you have entered a no judgment zone which allows us to drop into your heart. In this heart space, you can let go of your attachment to a person, situation, or outcome and any associated negativity. Keeping this perspective of loving detachment helps you accept your own and others’ soul journeys. It also allows you to trust the divine unfolding of your life by leading with your heart as it whispers words of wisdom.
Having expectations of yourself, others, or any situation can lead to disappointment. Your attachment to a specific outcome often keeps an even better outcome from manifesting. When you are locked within expectations, you miss the infinite possibilities waiting for you. Even though your expectations may be positive, you nevertheless impede the flow of energy by focusing on specific outcomes instead of trusting that you will receive exactly what you need for your personal transformation.
Here are 4 Simple Ways Help You Lean Into Life:
Elevate Your Perspective. Like flying in an airplane and viewing the ground below, you can obtain a more elevated, spiritual perspective on your life. Shift from viewing things simply in physical terms to seeing why things happen from a higher, enlightened perspective. By doing so, you’re more likely to become aware of hunches, gut feelings, intuitions, multisensory perceptions, or divine synchronicities. Moreover, you begin to sense, feel, and intuit what resonates with your soul’s path.
Let It Be. A simple mantra that reminds you to allow and accept what’s happening is: “Let It Be.” Repeat this mantra when you notice you are trying to control people or circumstances that are out of your control. This simple yet, empowering affirmation reminds you to stay in my own lane, focus on your own stuff, and trust the divine unfolding of your own life. When you do, you model for others how to live as a spiritual warrior who channels her energy in a positive way.
Focus on Yourself. Release the control you think you have over others and focus on yourself. Shift your focus to your heart and see yourself and others as the light beings you truly are. Let go of any judgment toward other people and their choices. Remember you cannot know another’s soul journey, even when that person is close to you. Accept that whatever choices they make are part of their divine path no matter what they look like at the time.
Trust Divine Timing. Let go of things in your life that are not going as planned. This is when you must trust divine timing, not physical time. Know that the universe is conspiring with you but does so in keeping with its own elevated timetable. Trust the divine unfolding of your life even if it’s not as you expected. When you let go of any expectations, outcomes, or plans, you will feel more likely to make a change and move forward. Allow things to be as they are without resistance. Breathe and let it all be.
What others’ and humanity choose is beyond your control; but what’s in your control is unconditional love. To love, care, and be a lightkeeper for yourself and the world.
