“If every human being intended to explore and celebrate life for the benefit of everyone, this would be a better place. For after all, it is all about love.” – Bryan Christopher
Yesterday morning, I woke up with a strong sense that I needed to be at a political rally that was happening in downtown Cleveland that afternoon. Now, I have never attended one before so the inspiration I experienced seemed out of the ordinary-maybe even extraordinary. When spirit whispers to me through my heart, I know to absolutely trust it’s voice and follow its lead. With this trust, I declared my intention to shine my light into the center of this public gathering and align with others in one common purpose. For me, this purpose went beyond supporting the political candidate that was speaking. It was to ignite and support positive shift on the planet.
Even though my husband had quite a different intent for this beautiful Sunday, he heard my desire and unconditionally supported me by aligning his intention with mine and off we went to join the throngs of people already gathering for the rally. We consciously chose to move through the experience with open hearts and no expectations of how the day would unfold. We make choices to celebrate the day no matter if the lines were long, the wait time more than we realized, and even when it rained on us. All of these conditions that were out our control were dissolved by sustaining humor, flexibility, and adventure. After all, it was about unconditional love.-for ourselves, each other, and for world’s people.
Standing in this sea of humanity from all walks of life, I was humbled by what I experienced-the young attorney that had broken from the traditions of his law firm to be there, the older, fragile African-American man who had taken the bus alone to be a part of something he never thought he would witness in his lifetime, and the young girl who tried so hard to move to the front to get a glimpse of what was happening and the energy she felt all around her. This moment was about a unity of positive energy that went far beyond the issues of the political campaign. This was a shared intention to celebrate life for the benefit of all mankind.
My mantra is always to sow seeds of light where ever I go so that I leave it a better place for being there. Shining my light so that others can benefit and follow in its path is my constant intention. So even after the election is over and the candidates chosen, I continue to explore and celebrate life, express unconditional love, and shine my light for the well-being of everyone and everything.
